Faculty of Education is one of seven faculties of the University of Colombo. It conducts both undergraduate and post-graduate degree programs in the field education. It has four departments: *Department of Educational Psychology *Department of Science and Technology Education *Department of Humanities Education *Department of Social Science Education Established in 1949 in the University of Ceylon as the department of education in Colombo it was shortly moved to Peradeniya as part of the Faculty of Arts in 1957. However the department was re-established in Colombo Campus of the University of Ceylon and was upgraded to a faculty in 1973.
